The aim of the project
The aim of the partnership is to know, to understand and to accept the cultural and linguistic diversity of the teaching staff and students from different European countries. Interdisciplinary topics involve History, literature, foreign languages, Geography, Art, Music, R.E. and craft work. Students of different ages, ethnic origin, religion and sex, as well as children with special educational needs, and the teachers who teach the above mentioned subjects will be involved in the activities. The project aims at comparing the folk customs and traditions of six European countries in order to find both similarities and differences. The students will look for information and documents regarding the authenticity of the folk customs and traditions of their countries, related to different religious holidays.
We will form a Guide of European Traditions and a Calendar of folk holidays. We will look for common sayings and riddles which will be bound in a book. The students will learn folk songs and dances characteristic of every country. They will organize artistic shows and we will make a video recording on DVD. Supervised by teachers, students will practise old craft work, creating handicraft wares which will be displayed at traditional festivals in partner countries.
Teachers will meet and search for ways of including folklore in the school subjects in every partner country. Thus we will share our experience in fields like Literature, Art, Music, R.E., History, English and IT.
English will be the communication language in this partnership.
The participants will improve their communicative skills in English, socialization skills and computer skills. They will practise traditional jobs.
Evaluation will be continuous for every activity, both for students and for teachers.
